Buttermilk ski resort is one of the most popular in Aspen today and, until 2008, is the home of the ESPN Winter X Games. Although Buttermilk is smaller than many of the other ski resorts in Aspen, it's preferred by many skiers and snowboarders. If you're a beginner like I am, then you'll love the ski school which offers lessons for both children and adults. If snowboarding is your preferred winter sport, you'll love Buttermilk's miles of boarding terrain which features more than 25 rails and a superpipe. This resort is adjacent to fantastic shopping, dining and accommodations for vacationers to enjoy. It’s just a few miles from Aspen.
While Buttermilk may be one of the smallest Aspen resorts, Snowmass is one of the largest. In fact, Snowmass Ski Resort is the second largest in Colorado. It is located only 9 miles from the airport and is in one of the most prestigious communities in the West. People come from all over the world to ski Snowmass. One of the cool things about this resort is that it shares a lift ticket with Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk. Skiers and boarders will love the incredible variety of trails, slopes and terrain for all skill levels. Snowmass offers world-class lodging, great food, and even incredible shopping and is located only a few minutes from the heart of Aspen.
