Live It Up At Luxury Ski Resorts

Probably the most notable luxury ski resorts are in Europe. The Badrutz Palace in St. Moritz, Switzerland is one of them. With 170 beautifully appointed rooms and 39 luxury suites, there is not a bad choice in the place. There are seven restaurant and three bars and they have their own Rolls Royce limousine. Take the free shuttle to and from the lifts and after a day on the slopes, pamper yourself at their world class spa or swim in the indoor pool. You really don’t have to leave the premises other than to ski if you don’t want to. The health club, Jacuzzi, steam bath, sauna, and full service beauty salon are right there at the Palace.

If you’re looking for something a little closer to home, we have some luxurious spots right here in the U.S. The Topnotch at Stowe Resort and Spa in Stowe, Vermont offers first class accommodations and is only two miles from Mt. Mansfield, Vermont’s highest mountain. You can ski all day and enjoy excellent food made with local organic ingredients at the restaurant. Stop in the common room for afternoon tea and home baked cookies or shop the retail outlets. The Topnotch has 24 hour room service, spa facilities, a beauty salon, and indoor pool. Pets are welcomed in the hotel, but not in rental properties.

Head out West and enjoy some time at the Inn at Lost Creek in Telluride, Colorado. This inn is relatively small with 32 uniquely designed suites. Every suite is different but they all have marble baths, balconies with incredible views, fine art and beautiful furnishings. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Stein Erikson Lodge is only five diamond ski resort in Utah. Located in Park City, Utah, it offers ski in, ski out access to Deer Valley Ski Resort. With rooms lavishly decorated in Scandinavian style, hand painted tiles and 145 fireplaces throughout, it is a gorgeous place. The Glitretend Restaurant offers American cosine, a Sunday brunch, and live entertainment. There is also a full service spa.

It would not be fair to leave out our Canadian neighbors. The Pan Pacific Whistler is located with easy access to Whistler and Blackcomb Mountains. This is a luxury boutique hotel where even the smallest suite is larger than the average hotel room.

Every suite has air conditioning, a gas fireplace, a balcony, and a soaker tub. I might never leave the room. It has been voted the best resort hotel in Whistler.

Everyone deserves a little luxury now and then, so save your pennies and look for the best deals on luxury ski resorts. It will be the trip of a life time.
