Reviews Of Top North Carolina Ski Resorts

Before you take your next ski holiday, check out our reviews of four top North Carolina ski resorts. North Carolina is home to quite a few gorgeous resort areas, and the ones profiled below are some of the finest. Check out all the benefits you'll enjoy while on your winter vacation!

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort: This beautiful resort is located in the splendid Blue Ridge Mountains, approximately 30 minutes north of Asheville. Here you'll enjoy 82 splendid acres of terrain for skiing and snowboarding at all skill levels. If you need a little help getting started or want to sharpen your skills, Wolf Ridge's Snow Sports School offers lessons for beginners and intermediates. There are two gorgeous ski lodges at the resort, one for smaller parties and the other for groups. For fine dining and great entertainment, head to the Lodge at Wolf Ridge. This restaurant is not only famous for its ribs, but its live bluegrass and chairlift rides as well!

Hawksnest Ski Resort: Skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities will love the varied terrain at the gorgeous Hawksnest Ski Resort. This resort offers class and private instruction for adults and children, including the popular Kiddy Hawk School for kids between the ages of five and eleven. Hawksnest also boasts the largest snow tubing park in the state of North Carolina. In the resort area, you'll find a wide variety of accommodations to choose from, including luxurious condos and rustic chalets. This resort is perfect for the whole family and also ideal for conferences and corporate groups.

Appalachian Ski Mountain Resort: This family-oriented resort offers ten amazing ski slopes, two incredible terrain parks, and night skiing seven days a week. There's an ice arena for skating, ski and snowboard lessons, and even a great daycare facility. After participating in all the winter sports, there's plenty more to do. Go bowling or shop at the nearby Boone Mall. Accommodations at this resort area include incredible chalet style retreats, fully equipped with lots of modern luxuries. There are lots of great places to dine nearby as well, including the cute Parkway Cafe and Australian themed chain restaurant Outback Steakhouse.

Sapphire Valley: Sapphire Valley could be called the jewel of North Carolina ski resorts, no pun intended! In addition to fantastic ski slopes, you'll find the Frozen Falls Tube Park. At the lodge at the base of the mountain there's great shopping, convenient equipment rental and fantastic food at the Four Seasons Grille. If you choose accommodations at the resort's lodge, you get access to the fitness center which offers a heated pool, whirlpool tubs, a sauna area, exercise machines, and spa services. It may not be the biggest resort in the state, but Sapphire Valley has a lot to offer!
