Ski Colorado Resorts For Beauty And Excitement

If you are serious skier, you know that Colorado is the Mecca for those who love the sport. My eighty year old former employer still makes a trip to Colorado every year to ski even though there are plenty of mountains right here in upstate New York. He says there’s nothing like it. If you want to ski Colorado resorts there are plenty to choose from.

You don’t have to break the bank to have a nice Colorado ski vacation. The Aspen area has several resorts. Aspen Mountain also called Ajax has very challenging ski trails and is suitable for expert skiers. The Hotel Jerome and Hotel Aspen provide luxurious accommodations and there are lots of condos and homes for rent in the area. Snowmass is located in one of the most prestigious communities and you may find luxury private home and condo rentals. The Aspen Highlands Resort is less crowded and where most of the locals hang out. It still offers some challenging trails and some near the bottom of the mountain suitable for beginners and intermediate skiers. It’s very family friendly. Buttermilk Resort is another family oriented resort with gently sloping trails and an excellent ski and snowboard school.

Of course skiing is the primary activity at the Colorado resorts, but there is plenty to do if skiing is not your thing. There are quaint shops to explore and lots of restaurants and bars to enjoy. You can also do some ice skating, snowshoeing, or hiking to take in the spectacular views. Many resorts have moonlight skiing and sleigh rides at night and many have live entertainment. Did I mention there are spa facilities if you over do it on the slopes? Even if you didn’t overdo it, a little trip to the spa will make you feel great.

Most of the resorts are connected to the mountains by heated walkways and bridges. Many times you can ski right into town and check out one of the restaurants. Most of the resorts have free shuttle service to the surrounding areas.

Even if you have skiing in your area, you might want to head out West and ski Colorado resorts. Most of the resorts offer competitive prices and many have all inclusive packages that will make your vacation more affordable. If you go with a group, renting a house may be a great option. If everyone shares in the expenses, you can have a longer vacation and check out some of the country’s best skiing.
